OMG

THIS IS THE CUTEST THING EVER.

ILOVE YOU, ROOMMATE!  YOU CAN’T IMAGINE THE SQUEAL I MADE WHEN I SAW THIS.

YOU’RE AMAZING!

Also this is the first thing I reblog, and it’s not even art.  I really should get on making a reblog only blog.

Look what we decided to babysit!  A baby blue jay!  Well, we think it’s a blue jay.  I think it looks and sounds like a pterodactyl when it needs feeding.  I’ll try to get a recording of it over the next few hours.

We think he may be able to be released back to the wild in the next few days, after everyone’s gone from the tent section.  We’ll see if Mama’ll be back to collect the baby or if we eventually have to teach it how to fly.

Look who decided to sun himself on a telephone wire!

Well, actually, the wire is what’s stabilizing the telephone pole. Still pretty sweet though.

One of our workers saw him wile weedwacking, and called me down.  The snake just sat there, flickering his tongue every now and again; he was such a good model!  I’m pretty sure he’s a Ribbon Snake.  From head to tail he was about …  a foot and a half?  Maybe a bit more.

Sara, Jack, Jacob, and I took a trip up to the top of the Pollack building.  The wind was blowing hard, so the only decent picture of all of us that I got was of our feet.  Beautiful top of the building though, you can see everything!  Haha.

I don’t know if you can make it out on the fifth picture, but it was a rooster wind directional thing.  I can’t think of the proper name for it right now.  I couldn’t resist taking a picture of it, even if I didn’t have the proper lens to get a good shot.

Big jump.  No photos from January apparently.  So let’s have snow from February!  With a Mickey lamp thrown in.  I thought it was a pretty picture.  Took a lot of finagling to get the camera to cooperate and take the picture without being either over exposed or too dark.  This picture was the product of a hundred different takes.  I didn’t get to see the chickens in the snow, otherwise there would have been pictures of them along with these. =]

There was a beautiful sunset one of the last evenings we were in Florida!  The colors were just gorgeous …  Unfortunately these were one of the only few that came out all right.

Final of the Green Kay photos.  This guy caught a bird just before we got to him on the boardwalk.  One poor kid was so sad.

10AM

Continuation of Green Kay.  These two were practically posing for me.  They just sat there, waiting for food to appear off in the water.  It was wonderful.  There were more than a few people taking copious pictures of these guys (like me).  I wish that random jogging lady wasn’t there though.

9AM

More Boardwalk pictures.  This one is Green Kay in Florida.  I’m not going to lie, I took around 700 pictures.  I’m not going to post them all (obviously).  Most turned out good, some okay, and other I don’t even want to think about.  It was fun experimenting with my camera and trying to see what I could do with it, and how quickly I could manually focus on something (those were the ones that I don’t want to think about … ).

Anyway.  There’s going to be about three or four of these posts today.

Christmas Eve was beach day.  I shouldn’t have done this, it’s freezing here right now, and I’m really starting to miss the beach.  Ah well.

I have some really great photos of family, but I don’t know if I’ll post them.  We’ll see.
